Donald J. Storch 

Of Counsel

Don founded the agency in 1980, after heading the PR department of Ciba-Geigy's (now Novartis) Pharmaceutical Division for almost 20 years. Prior to that, he was a newspaper reporter and editor. Don brings a diverse background of communications experience on the local, state, national, and international levels. He has been a guest lecturer on public relations policy and a member of the Public Relations Society of America's prestigious Counselors Academy.


 

Robert J. Murphy

President & CEO

Rob has been with The Storch-Murphy Group (SMG) since 1998, became a partner in 2002, and currently runs the Cranford, New Jersey office. He has spent the past 13 years proactively listening to client needs and offering solutions to help them navigate the dynamic healthcare industry to best position their products and services. He has planned and directed innovative public relations and issue management programs for many category leading products/services in industries including over-the-counter medicines, dietary supplements, contact lenses, hearing aid technologies, intravenous therapies, interventional cardiology, and regional healthcare systems.

Rob’s "hands on" approach to account management and writing expertise have gained the confidence of corporate leaders and have yielded highly successful healthcare communication programs in the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors. Prior to joining SMG, Rob worked in the public relations and marketing department of a regional healthcare system in New Jersey, where he served as the editor of the internal newsletter, managed the creation of the system’s first website, and helped create and execute an award-winning direct-to-consumer awareness campaign.


 

Martin Schildhouse

Marty has more than 20 years of communications, marketing and sales experience on the client side of the healthcare industry, with two Johnson & Johnson companies. He has worked through challenging and complex internal and external business issues, compliance initiatives, brand development strategies and customer relations activities.

Marty brings a unique perspective and understanding of the business environment from the inside-out, strong insights into the marketplace and client needs and expectations, as well as the ability to work across functions to achieve business results. His breadth of experience includes bringing two transformational products to market, each a first within their respective industries – ACUVUE® Disposable Contact Lenses and the CYPHER® Sirolimus-eluting Coronary Stent.


 

Peter Collins

Senior Counselor, Media Strategy

Peter Collins has more than 25 years of public relations experience managing the media relations and media strategy for many blue-chip, global companies positioned within the over-the-counter consumer healthcare, pharmaceutical, and medical device sectors. Across many categories, Peter has formed strong relationships with television producers and editors at the nation’s most influential media, from The Wall Street Journal to Pharmaceutical Executive

Prior to joining SMG, Peter worked at several leading public relations agencies directing many award-winning campaigns for healthcare accounts including Johnson & Johnson, Guidant, Boston Scientific, and the Cardiovascular Research Foundation.  In addition, Peter played a pivotal role in the development of the media strategies for several large pharmaceuticals including Altace, Mevacor, and consumer brand St. Joseph’s Aspirin. 

 


Ellen Morrison

Medical Writer/Senior Counselor

Ellen has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry and has worked on a wide variety of assignments including issue management, product launches and campaigns, technical article and script writing, and medical publishing. Ellen holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in biological sciences from the University of Texas.

Currently, she is an adjunct professor of business communication at the University of Texas McCombs School of Business and formerly taught scientific and technical writing at Rutgers University. She has drafted materials on a diverse range of medical topics, including oncology, cardiology, conditions of smell, intravenous therapy, ophthalmology and optometry, orthopedics, pain management, and traumatic injury.
